Job summary

Eden Prairie Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with mobility, self-care, communication, and social interaction needs so they can participate fully in classroom activities.

The role requires a two year degree or 60 credits, or a passing ParaPro test, with preference for experience with EBD, LD, and MMH. The position runs 6.25 hours per day across 178 days annually, with 6 paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Two year degree or higher, 60 credits toward a degree, or pass MN ParaPro test.
• Basic child development background preferred.
• Willingness to work with and show respect for students with special needs.
• Able to work independently.
• Demonstrated communication skills, patience, and flexibility.
• Experience with special education students including EBD, LD, and MMH.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to follow teacher's plan and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mobility, self-care, communication, and social interaction needs to maximize participation in classroom activities.
• Support students in daily classroom routines and activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents while following the teacher's plan.

Education
