Job summary

Windemere Park Charter Academy in Lansing, MI seeks a Title I paraprofessional to support students with IEPs and 504 plans, in 1:1 or small-group settings. You’ll work under the special education team to promote academic, social, and behavioral growth.

You will participate in professional development, attend IEP meetings, and assist with compliance documentation, contributing to a safe, supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities or behavior modification preferred.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation; navigate technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance per IEP/504 plans.
• Commit to educating the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement curriculum and instruction tailored to each student’s needs arising from disabilities; include resource room, inclusion, and/or pullout services.
• Attend professional development, trainings, and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents.
• Assist with compliance documentation.
