Job summary

Banning Lewis Ranch Academy in Colorado Springs is seeking a compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with IEPs across settings. You will collaborate with SPED and general education teachers to implement individualized supports and help students access curriculum while building independence and social skills.

The role requires a high school diploma (Associate's degree or higher preferred) and CPI certification, with a focus on confidentiality, teamwork, and student

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience working with children in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to follow directions, maintain confidentiality, and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with IEPs in academic areas such as reading, writing, and math.
• Implement instructional strategies and accommodations as directed by the SPED teacher.
• Support students in accessing grade-level curriculum within general ed and small-group settings.
• Reinforce learning through guided practice, prompting, and feedback.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and support positive student behavior.
• Assist with de-escalation and redirection when students are frustrated or dysregulated.
