Responsibilities

• Assists student(s) in physical tasks and to reinforce instructional content.
• Assists with putting on/taking off outer wear, moving between rooms, bathroom needs, and supervision outside the classroom as necessary.
• Works with small groups to reinforce material under supervision of the special education teacher.
• Maintains supportive relationships with students and communicates progress with staff.
• Operates and maintains instructional equipment used in the program.
• Assists in creating and applying strategies to reinforce skills based on individual student needs.
• Supervises students during drills, assemblies, field trips, and other activities.
• Serves as information source for substitute teachers in the absence of the SPED teacher.
• Aids in distributing instructional materials and maintaining student records.
