Job summary

Camas School District is seeking a Paraprofessional Special Education High Needs at the Adult Transition and Training Center (ATTC) to support students in self-contained or specialized programs. The role includes 1:1 and small-group support, implementing IEPs, and assisting with materials and data collection.

The position emphasizes student safety, behavioral support, and collaboration with teachers. Requirement includes high school diploma or higher with state paraprofessional credentials;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 72 quarter/48 semester credits or AA/AS degree or state paraprofessional exam.
• Needs to complete the Fundamental Course of Study and General Certificate per state guidelines.
• Experience working with special needs students in an educational setting.
• Basic knowledge of sign language preferred.
• Acquire and maintain first aid/CPR certification and training in physical restraints.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and/or small-group assistance to students in self-contained or specialized programs.
• Implement IEPs as designated by teachers and staff.
• Prepare and utilize materials for students.
• Assist with behavioral plans and progress data collection.
• Support adaptation of classroom materials and independent/self-help skills.
• Provide for students’ physical needs and safety; assist with first aid and restraint as needed.
• Maintain records and report progress to the teacher.
