Job summary

West Valley School District Inc. is seeking a Special Education DLC Paraprofessional at West Valley Junior High in Yakima, WA.

Responsibilities include implementing de-escalation strategies, maintaining records, supporting IEP goals, and ensuring a safe learning environment across classrooms, cafeteria, playground, and trips.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and meet ESSA paraprofessional requirements.
• Two-year post-secondary degree or 72 quarter credits or passed Paraprofessional Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually or in small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Follow a structured teaching and learning plan.
• Provide direct instruction tutoring and guide independent work.
• Maintain progress records and communicate with staff.
• Support students in various settings including bus trips and activities.
• Maintain classroom materials and equipment.
• Help ensure safety and appropriate behavior.
