Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools Kendrick Middle in Jonesboro, GA seeks a Paraprofessional - Special Education Interrelated to support classroom teachers in providing educational opportunities for students with special needs. Position reports to the Principal or designee and involves assisting with instruction, materials, and supervision.

The role requires meeting GaPSC education requirements (associate degree or equivalent, or related credentials) and may involve lifting and personal assistance

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher from GaPSC-accepted institution.
• Two years of college coursework (60 sem hours or 90 quarter hours) with grade C or better.
• Passed GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and hold a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist with small group or individual activities per teacher plans.
• Prepare instructional materials and manage classroom setup and materials.
• Assist with routine record keeping, supervision of students during duties and fielding assignments.
• Support media center operations and supervision in absence of media specialist.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support educational services.

Education

Associate’s degree or higher in any subject from GaPSC-accepted institution

Two years of college coursework (60 sem hours or 90 quarter hours) above remedial level with grade C or better

Passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and high school diploma or GED
