Job summary

Qualifications

• Required 48 college credits hours or Associate degree or passing score on ParaPro test.
• Strong background in communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and follow a variety of classroom tasks
• Carry out classroom schedule and routines
• Prepare materials and lessons with the classroom teacher
• Make copies of homework, parent notices, resources
• Attend to behavioral and medical needs
• Help maintain a clean and organized classroom
• Implement school and district policies and procedures
• Arrive on time prepared to work
• Communicate with classroom teacher with regards to students’ social, emotional, physical and academic needs
• Maintain confidentiality
• Develop and maintain supportive relationships with all children and families in the classroom
• Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, secure, developmentally appropriate classroom
• Observe classroom procedures as often as possible.
• In the event that the classroom teacher is absent, paraprofessionals will be expected to take full responsibility for or assist the substitute teacher
