Job summary

Kids for the Future in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a dedicated assistant to support students with disabilities in various school settings under teacher supervision.

You will help with instructional activities, adapt curriculum as needed, track progress, and assist in managing behavior and routines using assistive technology. This role involves collaboration with educators to promote student learning.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
• Ability to work with a variety of student behaviors and educational needs, primarily in the general education classroom.
• Ability to work as a team member, demonstrates human relations skills, and demonstrates effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out activities to achieve goals and objectives listed in the students’ Individual Educational Plans.
• Assist students in instructional activities, curriculum modification and adaptations with the planning and supervision of the classroom teacher and/or special education teacher.
• Assist with the tracking of student progress through data collection.
• Work with computers and other adaptive AT equipment to aid in student learning.
• Provide accommodations and adaptations as needed.
• Assist students in developing self-management skills.
• Support teachers with classroom management and behavior support plans.
