Job summary

National Heritage Academies in Holland, MI seeks a Title I paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the guidance of the special education team. Responsibilities include 1:1 or small group support aligned with IEPs and 504 plans.

You will assist with implementing instructional strategies, maintain compliance documentation, and participate in professional development opportunities as required to enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
• Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behaviour modifications, preferred.
• Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioural assistance for students in accordance with their IEP and/or 504 plan as directed by the special education team.
• Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
• Commit to educating the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction meeting the needs of students with disabilities.
• Attend professional development, specialised trainings and IEP meetings with the team and parents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioural assistance for students in accordance with their individual education plan (IEP) and/or their 504-behaviour plan as directed by the special education team. Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
