Job summary

New Story Schools in Steelton, PA is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students aged 5–21 with autism and related challenges. You will work with teachers to implement goals and help students grow in academic, behavioral, and daily living skills.

You will assist with IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans, support transitions and personal care, and collect data to track progress, contributing to a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

As a Special Education Paraprofessional at New Story Schools, you will work alongside teachers to support students’ academic, behavioral, and daily living goals. You’ll play a vital role in helping each student succeed through direct support, patience, and encouragement.
