  • Displays a positive attitude and is courteous, friendly, and cooperative with staff, students, and stakeholders.
  • Respects confidentiality in school matters, especially those involving students and staff.
  • Completes all training deemed appropriate and necessary, for the position, by the building administrator or superintendent.
  • Collaborates with teachers and initiates positive communication with other staff members.
  • Acts in a positive, patient, and understanding manner to students and adults.
  • Assists the classroom teacher by reinforcing content/curriculum, providing additional learning support, helping to adapt appropriate materials, and generally addressing the academic needs of an individual or small group of students in the classroom or an alternate environment.
  • Accepts different daily/weekly responsibilities in a positive manner to help with staff absences.
  • Assists students with personal primary care, as deemed necessary.
  • Addresses the social and emotional needs of students.
  • Maintains an appropriate personal appearance and work area and is punctual to work position.
  • Completes all required district/state/federal documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Provides feedback to the classroom teacher on student progress.
  • Other duties as assigned.

DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Building Administrator

JOB GOAL: To assist the classroom teacher, whenever possible, to help an individual or

a small group of students take full advantage of the instructional program and be academically successful.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Displays a positive attitude and is courteous, friendly, and cooperative with staff, students, and stakeholders.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be determined by the Board, in consultation with the superintendent.
