Job summary

Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional for Galesburg-Augusta High School. This full-time position requires working closely with students who have diverse academic and behavioral needs. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers to implement educational strategies and provide essential support as outlined in students’ individualized plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred experience with students having Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD or behavioral/emotional disorders.
• Preferred experience with science and mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Implement instruction for academic, transition, and behavior goals.
• Assist teachers with monitoring student progress.
• Provide supports outlined in student behavior support plans and IEP.

POSITION: Special Education Paraprofessional

PLACE: Galesburg-Augusta High School

HOURS: Full Day – 5 Days per Week

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Ability to work with students with academic, behavior and health related needs.
• Experience with students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD or behavioral/emotional disorders preferred.
• Experience with science and mathematics is preferred.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Implement instruction for both academic, transition, and behavior goals and objectives.
• Assist teachers with monitoring student progress through assessment and data collection.
• Provide supports outlined in student positive behavior support plans and/or IEP Plan, including health related needs.
• Complete other tasks/responsibilities as assigned by the supervising teacher and/or administrator
  
  

WAGES: As per Galesburg-Augusta Paraprofessional contract.
