Job summary

Eden Prairie Schools, home of the Eagles, is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional at Eden Lake Elementary to support students with mobility, self-care, communication, and social needs, maximizing participation in classroom activities.

The position is classified MSEA Level III, with a rate of pay of $22.81/hour, 6.25 hours per day, and a schedule of Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:15 PM. Employment requires background check and Board approval.

Qualifications

• Two year degree or higher, 60 credits toward a degree, or ParaPro test passing.
• Basic child development knowledge preferred.
• Willingness to work with students with special needs.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong communication, patience and flexibility.
• Experience with special education (EBD, LD, MMH).

Eden Prairie Schools is currently seeking applicants for the position of Special Education Paraprofessional. The Special Education Paraprofessional will assist with the special needs student with mobility, self-care, communication, and social interaction needs to maximize participation in classroom activities.

POSITION: Special Education Paraprofessional

LOCATION: Eden Lake Elementary

CLASSIFICATION: MSEA Level III

RATE OF PAY: $22.81/hour

HOURS PER DAY: 6.25

START & ENDING TIME: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM

WORKING DAYS PER YEAR: 178

PAID HOLIDAYS: 6.25

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

• Two year degree or higher, 60 credits toward a degree, or obtain a passing score on the MN approved assessment ParaPro test, which measures math and reading skills.
• Basic child development educational background or knowledge preferred.
• Willingness to work with and show respect for students with special needs.
• Able to work independently.
• Demonstrated communication skills, patience, and flexibility.
• Experience with special education students including EBD, LD, and MMH
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to follow teacher's plan and direction, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
