Job summary

Davenport Community Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to support students with diverse learning needs across settings. You will assist the Special Education team with instructional support, behavior interventions, and social/daily living skills development, helping students reach their full potential.

The role requires flexibility, collaboration with teachers and staff, and the ability to adapt to lifting, movement, and varied daily schedules. A passion for student success is essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend any required evening trainings or meetings during the school year or summer.
• Accept feedback from specialists and special education facilitator to adjust instruction.
• Follow directives of classroom teacher, building administration, and district administration.
• Work with students who show aggressive behavior and provide safe, supportive instruction.
• Assist students with learning, behavior, physical, and/or cognitive disabilities across settings.
• Provide services for Special Education students as needed in special or general education settings.
• Under supervision of the Special Education teacher, provide academic assistance and behavioral interventions.
• Attend field trips with students as necessary.
