Job summary

The Boulder Valley School District is seeking a classroom assistant to support students with intensive needs in both regular and special education settings. Tasks include adapting work, monitoring behavior, health care tasks, and crisis support as part of IEP goals.

You will collaborate with the case manager/teacher, attend required trainings (CPI, CPR, First Aid), and help with field trips, assessments, and documentation while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completed BVSD online application.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform health care duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to special education students in regular and special education classrooms.
• Assist with adapting work, monitoring and enforcing behavior, and implementing health care plans.
• Assist in cafeteria, recess, labs, field trips, and bus transitions.
• Assist in crisis situations including restraining and documentation.
• Understand state regulations on behavior management and implement protocols.
• Work under supervision of case manager/teacher on IEPs and progress notes.
• Mentor and assist students to become independent.
• Attend professional development such as CPI, CPR and First Aid and maintain certifications.
• Maintain student confidentiality per regulations and district policies.
