Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Willingness to accept direction and cooperate with all staff.
• Prior experience with working with children in a school or similar setting preferred.
• Ability to use good judgment and exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with others; respect confidentiality.
• Computer Literate; ability to learn and use assistive technology.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a certified teacher, prepare for classroom instructional events and other educational or non-educational activities.
• Assist the teacher in implementing special strategies and interventions.
• Provide positive role models and treat students with respect.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff.
• Assist in teaching processes and support areas of academics, social skills, and self-care.
• Use online platforms such as Google Classroom to support student learning.
• Familiarize with IEPs, district policies, and procedures.
• Assist in behavioral interventions and CPI certification training.
• Assist with toileting and lifting as required per IEP.
