Job summary

Bridger School District 2 Bridger Public Schools in Bridger, Montana seeks a paraeducator to support teachers with instructional materials and activities tailored to students’ needs. You will assist in presenting lessons under supervision, tutor learners, and help manage classroom routines.

You will also contribute to maintaining a positive environment, monitor behavior, and help with basic clerical tasks and records while upholding confidentiality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of college study or higher required.
• Experience with children or special needs is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of child growth, development, and behavior in special education programs.
• Basic arithmetical concepts.
• Learn and utilize standard teaching aids and office machines.
• Understand and follow instructions in special education settings.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with students, staff, parents and public.

Responsibilities

• Assists instructional personnel with development of instructional materials.
• Assists in presentation of learning materials and exercises in compliance with IEPs.
• Tutor students individually or in small groups.
• Monitors and assists students during drills, practice and study activities.
• Assists in supervising special education students in various settings.
• Reads aloud to students and explains words and meanings.
• Assists with general clerical duties for instructional personnel.
• Assists in maintaining neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment.
• Designs and displays bulletin boards.
• Other duties as assigned.
