Job summary

Harford County Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator for the STRIVE program at Riverside Elementary School. The candidate will assist with instructional programs, support students with disabilities, and help implement IEPs/IFSPs as directed by teachers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, an associate degree or 48 college credits, or a paraprofessional exam passing score. Strong communication and ability to lift up to 40 pounds are essential; prior disability experience is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate of arts degree or higher, or 48 college credits with C or higher.
• Passing score on a paraprofessional exam (e.g., ParaPro 455+ or ParaPathways).
• Foundations of Classroom Support/517 or 519 with required scores. (md state).
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer students up to 40 pounds.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students during instruction.
• Implement lesson plans with individuals or small groups.
• Assist with data collection, testing, and student assessment.
• Support IEP/IFSP implementations for students with special needs.
• Monitor behavior and apply behavioral strategies.
• Assist with personal care needs of students as required.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with school duties.
• Participate in professional development and virtual instruction as needed.
