Job summary

Durango School District 9-R is seeking a Special Education Instructional Paraprofessional for the Pathways Program in Durango, CO. The role runs 20 hours per week, 10:00 am–2:00 pm, with benefits and a $900 one-time bonus pro-rated for late start.

You will assist licensed staff in delivering services to students with diverse disabilities in various settings. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and CPI/CPR training within three months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Skills Competence: 2 years of college or 48 semester hours, or pass paraprofessional test prior to hire.
• CPR and First Aid training preferred at hire; CPI training required within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support instructional programs and assist in implementing IEPs under licensed staff supervision.
• Enforce district policies and help meet student behavioral goals; assist in crisis intervention.
• Assist with daily routines and mobility as needed per IEP.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents.
• Maintain confidentiality under FERPA and assist with record keeping.
