- 1:00 p.m.), 190 days per year, and meeting state paraeducator requirements. The incumbent will report to the Special Education Instructor/Building Principal and assist in supervising instructional activities for students individually and in small groups.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen (18) years old and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must meet one or more of the following:
• Passing score of 455+ on the ETS ParaPro Assessment (PRAXIS) or
• Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university or
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher
• Have completed a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program (registered with WA Apprenticeship Council)

SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAEDUCATOR - OVERLOAD

LOCATION: Crestline Elementary School

REPORTS TO:Special Education Instructor/Building Principal

DEPARTMENT: Special Services

Hours / Work Times

2 Hours Per Day (11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.)

190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 holidays)

This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 10/26/26.

Position is contingent on Student Enrollment

Must meet Paraeducator Employment Requirements as follows*:

• Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent;AND
• Must meet one or more of the following:

• Have received a passing score of 455 or higher on the Education Testing Service ParaPro Assessment (ETS test/PRAXIS);or
• Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university;or
• Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university;or
• Have completed a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program (program must be registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council).

*If you do not meet the required qualifications listed above, your name will be screened out from the list of qualified candidates.

Upon hire, new paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through Evergreen School District.

Classification Group: Paraeducator Class II

Salary Placement: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However, employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Under the supervision of the Special Education classroom instructor and the building Principal, the Special Education Paraeducator will assist in the supervision of instructional activities, working closely with students on an individual as well as a small group basis.
