Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or 48 college credits.
• ParaPro Praxis completed or enrolled and HS diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum age 18; 21+ for employment in high school.
• Sign language course if assigned to hearing impaired class.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce skills with individuals or small groups under teacher supervision.
• Prepare instructional materials and adapt readings for varied abilities.
• Assist with organizing classroom at start of year and setting up learning centers.
• Provide non-instructional support: attendance, health and safety duties, snack time, supervision.
• Assist with medical or physical needs after proper training; operate AV equipment.
• Attend meetings and participate in staff development as required.
• Register and track student information, manage materials and testing records.

Education

Associate Degree

ParaPro Praxis or equivalent
