Iowa City Community School District Coralville Central Elementary in Coralville, Iowa, is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator for 6.5 hours per day to support students with Individual Education Plans and assist in preparing instructional materials.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED; Para Certificate or post-secondary education is preferred, with experience in a K-12 setting considered an asset. Duties include crisis training and documentation maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Para Certificate or Post-Secondary Education preferred.
• Experience in a K-12 education system is preferred.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsabilités

• Assist in the implementation of student's Individual Education Plans and support in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and equipment.
• Implement a Behavior Implementation Plan (BIP).
• Assist with and/or perform personal care and hygiene activities as necessitated by the needs of the student.
• Support alternate communication devices as needed and ensure access across settings.
• Participate in training and support the implementation of crisis management training including de-escalation.
• Maintain student documentation, Medicaid logs, and progress monitoring.
