Job summary

Watertown Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator- Classification II at Judson Elementary School. You will assist classroom teachers, support students with special needs, and help implement IEP objectives.

The position reports to the Director of Special Education and the Building Administrator, and starts ASAP. 32.5 hours weekly, 184 district days, with a step 1 rate of $18.05/hour rising to $19.00 after Sept 1, 2026.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of college study (60 credits) is required.
• Associates Degree or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment is required.
• Preferred: experience with special education students and willingness to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Carry out instructions and lesson plans as directed.
• Modify tasks in live time to meet student needs.
• Support students while promoting independence.
• Collaborate with classroom and special education staff.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and employee information.
• Build compassionate relationships with students with special needs.
• Follow safety rules to assist all students.
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed.
• Support inclusion and IEP objectives in classroom instruction.
• Accompany students on field trips and supervise them.
