Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and successful completion of Para-Professional Assessment.
• Demonstrates ability to read, understand instructions and teaching materials.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Observes and supervises classroom activities to maintain a safe environment.
• Assists teacher with setup, cleanup, and group projects.
• Provides one-on-one and group instruction after the teacher demonstrates tasks.
• Monitors students during breaks, meals, and field trips.
• Assists students with self-help, gross motor and social skills in all settings.
• Transports students to and from buses or pick-ups as needed.
• Maintains records including attendance and progress notes.
