Qualifications

• Must be willing to attend evening trainings or meetings during the school year or summer.
• Must be willing to accept feedback from specialists and special education facilitator and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Must follow directives of classroom teacher, building administration, and district administration.
• Must be willing and able to work with students who are explosive in nature and may exhibit aggression.

Responsibilities

• Provide research-based social skills instruction and intervention under supervision of a certified teacher.
• Work with students with learning, behavior, physical, and/or cognitive disabilities, including autism and spectrum disorders.
• Provide academic assistance, behavioral interventions, and instruction of social and daily living skills under the special education teacher.
• Attend field trips with students as needed and supervise in classroom, lunch/breakfast, and on school sites.
• Regular attendance to meet IEP services and to ensure free appropriate public education (FAPE).
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely and maintain confidentiality.
