Job description

The Orientation and Mobility Specialist provides instructional services to students with a visual impairment or other students with a disability and visual problems. Provides pre-referral and consultation services to students, parents, and staff. Provides travel techniques to students so they may move independently, safely, and purposely through their environment. Conducts evaluations and provides written reports for Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), Individualized Education Program Team (IEPT), and related agencies.

Available :

One (1) full-time position; hrs per day, 186 days per year (Academic calendar).

Salary :

The Genesee Intermediate Education Association (GIEA) offers a competitive salary schedule for certificated staff, with consideration given to years of service. For the 2024-2025 school year , the salary schedule includes a 2% increase on the schedule, with salaries ranging from $36,896 to $87,437 , depending on qualifications and experience. For the 2024-2025 school year, eligible special education positions will receive an additional 2% off-schedule stipend.
