Job summary

KIPP NYC in New York City seeks a Special Education Teacher to collaborate with peers and General Education teachers to plan targeted, high-leverage interventions for students with IEPs and diagnosed disabilities.

You will diagnose challenges, design individualized plans, and differentiate instruction, while modeling the school's values and commitment to equity. The role requires travel to KIPP NYC schools in the district.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to a collegial working environment and a positive school culture.
• At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
• New York State Special Education teacher certification is highly recommended.
• A passion for being part of a team-oriented, mission-driven school culture.

Responsibilities

• Teach a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with NYS standards.
• Collaborate with General Education Teachers to design targeted interventions.
• Use data to inform instructional decisions and monitor student progress.
• Provide individual or small-group instruction to students who need additional support.
• Model a professional and respectful approach for students, families, and staff.
