General Purpose of Job:
Oversee program teaching team, classroom instruction delivery and ensure quality outcomes for students
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Lead, supervise and manage Teachers and Assistant Teachers. Provide coaching, mentoring and supervision on a regular basis for their development. Conduct regular performance evaluations. Implement staff recognition and appreciation systems.
• Conduct routine monitoring and intervention of teaching team implementation of curriculum, teach/model proper teaching methods and provide feedback/intervention as needed. Collaborate with teachers to address learning gaps and provide intervention strategies as needed.
• Conduct routine monitoring and intervention regarding student IEP goal progress including reviewing individual/classroom progress with teaching team, adjusting individual/group strategies as needed and ensuring progress being made.
• Assist in the development of comprehensive, standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials. Support teachers in implementing differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of students
• Assist teachers plan, administer, and evaluate formative and summative assessments, and monitor student progress through formal and informal assessments.
• Provide training to Teachers and Assistant Teachers including new school year orientation, teacher development days, end of school year coordination and ongoing individual professional development of team.
• Assume classroom duties during teaching team absences, ensuring seamless transitions and continued learning.
• Coordinate with Director of Quest Kids Academy on IEPs, including goals, meetings, progress reporting/monitoring and provide input as necessary.
• Reports to work during inclement weather to ensure adequate supervision and care of all program participants. This may include sheltering in place during a hurricane.
• Ensures compliance with any and all regulations pertaining to behavioral programming.
• Follow all emergency procedures during a drill or in an actual emergency.
• Attend all required training and monthly staff meetings.
• Follow all Quest policies and procedures.
• Employees are required to report serious issues to the employee hotline or to a Quest leader under the See Something Say Something policy.
• Management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different tasks be performed as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
• 18 years of age or older required.
• B.S. in Education (M.S. highly preferred) with either emphasis in Special Education or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
• 2+ years supervisory experience and 5+ years of teaching experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Florida State certification in teaching in appropriate subject area (highly preferred)
• Experience with ABA highly preferred.
Physical Demands
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.
• Requires frequently periods of standing, bending, walking or sitting.
• Requires some reaching, stooping, bending or kneeling.
• Requires occasional exposure to weather including extreme heat, humidity, and moisture.
• Requires sufficient vision and hearing ability to observe and communicate with clients.
