Job summary

Achieve Beyond Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services in Bronx, NY is seeking a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher. You will provide one on one instruction to young children, support families, and work across homes and community settings with a flexible schedule.

Starting wage is $68.00 per hour, with compensation based on experience and education. The role includes collaboration with clinical supervisors, and access to our paperless data system and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must hold one of the NYS certifications/licenses listed above.
• Experience or interest in SEIT services is preferred.
• Ability to travel to assigned Bronx/NY locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 in the CPSE program.
• Educate family members and caregivers on intervention strategies for carry-over.
• Work in homes, day care centers and community settings.
• Maintain accurate service records; submit evaluations and progress reports timely.
• Prepare progress reports according to program timelines.
• Maintain confidentiality of information in line with HIPAA and regulations.

Job Responsibilities for a Special Education Itinerant Teacher

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements for a Special Education ItinerantTeacher

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
  o Students with  Disabilities (Birth – 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional Certification
  o Permanent Special Education Certification
• Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.
• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.
  

StartingRate: hourly $70.00. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during theSpecial Education ItinerantTeacherinterview process.
