Job summary

Achieve Beyond in Queens, NY seeks a dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher to provide one-on-one instruction to children aged 3 to 5 in CPSE settings. The role requires NYS certification and the ability to travel to various case locations across NYC boroughs.

You will collaborate with families, document progress, and maintain confidentiality under HIPAA and state regulations. Flexible scheduling and supportive supervision are offered.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children and families.
• NYS certification/license in special education (Birth-2 or All Grades).
• Permanent certification preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 in CPSE programs.
• Educate families/caregivers on intervention strategies for carry-over.
• Travel to assigned cases across NYC boroughs as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and submit progress reports on time.

Job Responsibilities For a Special Education ItinerantTeacher

• Provide one on one special instruction to children aged 3 to 5 years in our CPSE program
• Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over.
• Work in diverse settings such as patient homes, family day care homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided; submit evaluationsandprogress reports in a timely manner
• Prepare progress reports as per program timelines
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and State & Federal regulations) and submit records to agency within established deadlines

Requirements For a Special Education ItinerantTeacher

• Must have a passion for working with children and families!
• One of the following NYS certifications/licenses:
• Students with Disabilities (Birth 2) Initial or Professional Certification OR Students with Disabilities All Grades, Initial or Professional
• Permanent Special Education Certification

Must be self-motivated and a team player who exercises patience and professionalism.

• Fluency in a language other than English is a plus!

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases, including but not limited to:
• Driving a personal vehicle, walking and/or the use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
• The ability to ascend and descend staircases.
• The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly.
• The ability to sit on the floor, kneel and/or crawl for extended periods of time.

StartingRate

hourly $70. Compensation is determined based on experience and education and will be discussed during the Special Education ItinerantTeacher interview process.
