Job Summary

Provide instruction to students in special education, collaborate with Board, school leadership, and specialists, and support students as directed by School District policies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Follow Tennessee curriculum standards, state regulations, and local policies.

  • Abide by ethical standards and report concerns through the prescribed complaint/grievance process.
  • Participate in staff development and professional development specific to special education.
  • Administer assessments, record scores, and analyze data to improve instruction.
  • Plan, prepare, implement, and assess instructional lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Supervise students, ensuring safety and orderly classroom environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal, Supervisor of Exceptional Learners, or Director of Schools.
Physical Demands

May require lifting or carrying objects up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, and other demands such as pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, and climbing.
