Kodiak Island Borough School District seeks an Aide IV for Special Education Intensive Support at Main Elementary in Kodiak, Alaska. The position runs 6.5 hours/day, 5 days/week for a 9-month term, with an entry hourly range of $23.91.

The aide works one-to-one or in small groups under a teacher's supervision to support students with intensive needs. Qualifications include a high school diploma, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, confidentiality, and successful completion of required trainings

Qualifications

• Ability to work well with students, families, staff and the public.
• Ability to carry out tasks assigned by the teacher/supervisor.
• Demonstrate sensitivity, patience and flexibility for students with special needs.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties within Special Education throughout KIBSD.
• Assist students with intensive needs (life skills, autism, behavior support).
• May assist with personal care and hygiene for students.
• Support students in job sites and on field trips.
• Follow IEP goals under supervision of the teacher.
