Job summary

The State of Connecticut, through the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS), seeks a Special Education Instructor for Howell Cheney Technical High School in Manchester, CT. The role supports students with disabilities via differentiated instruction, assistive tech, and coordinated case management within a 35-hour workweek.

Responsibilities include collaboration with content-area teachers, delivering equity-centered instruction, and engaging families and the community.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years’ experience in a high school setting (9-12 education).
• Experience with varied assessments to inform instruction and promote learning.
• Experience delivering ideas and objectives through oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Educate students with and without disabilities and manage cases for students with disabilities.
• Employ differentiated instructional strategies and assistive technology across disciplines.
• Collaborate with content-area teachers to ensure equitable instruction and progress.
• Design and assess transition needs and engage in parent and community outreach.
