ARIZONA SPECIAL EDUCATION INNOVATORS: WE NEED YOUR EXPERTISE

What if your Special Education expertise could transform compliance into creativity? What if you could help reinvent education itself?

At Unbound Academy, we've rebuilt school from the ground up. We're the first virtual, tuition-free charter school where students master academics in just two hours a day using adaptive AI—freeing their afternoons for immersive, real-life learning. Our Guides don't deliver lectures. They coach, inspire, and lead hands-on workshops that teach storytelling, entrepreneurship, design, wellness, and more. Now we need a Special Education professional who can do both: coach students toward life readiness and lead our IEP program with precision.

This role is for the SPED teacher who's mastered both classroom leadership and program administration. You've written, updated, and coordinated IEPs with meticulous attention to detail. You maintain compliance while keeping students at the center of everything you do. You're an Arizona resident with full certification. Most importantly, you're energized by meaningful work in a school that genuinely prepares children for real life.

If you're ready to elevate Special Education beyond paperwork and into purpose, this is your opportunity to build something extraordinary.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop, update, and manage Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with precision and full Arizona state compliance
  • Orchestrate accommodations and compliance requirements across our innovative virtual learning platform
  • Design and lead engaging, high-impact virtual workshops in areas like entrepreneurship, storytelling, and wellness
  • Provide targeted coaching to SPED students individually and in small groups to develop confidence, executive functioning, and self-direction
  • Partner with our educational team to continuously enhance our support systems for exceptional learners

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering traditional academic lectures—our AI tutors handle core subject instruction
  • Operating in administrative isolation—you'll be actively engaged with students daily
  • Drowning in redundant paperwork, excessive meetings, or bureaucratic procedures
  • Implementing standardized, inflexible teaching protocols—we prioritize personalized, adaptive education

Special Education Instructional Coach Key Responsibilities

Drive excellence in IEP development, implementation, and compliance while engaging students in transformative virtual experiences that build essential life skills and genuine confidence.

Basic Requirements

  • Active Arizona residency (non-negotiable)
  • Valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in IEP development and management
  • Proven track record coordinating accommodations and maintaining SPED compliance
  • Successful experience working with students aged 8–14
  • Exceptional virtual presence and communication skills; camera-ready confidence
  • Available to start by July 2025
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in fast-paced, technology-driven educational environments
