Job summary

Westminster Public Schools is hiring an ESP - Instructional Assistant at Westminster High School to support students with IEPs and assist with classroom activities. The role includes supervision, personal care where needed, and collaboration with educators to modify assignments for students with disabilities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent plus an Associate Degree/48 college credits or ParaPro/WorkKeys, SEPA training within 90 days, CPI training, and First Aid/CPR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus an Associate Degree, 48 college semester credits, or ParaPro PRAXIS/WorkKeys.
• Must complete SEPA training within 90 calendar days of employment.
• Experience working with students with significant cognitive and behavioral disabilities, including autism.
• Must pass pre-employment background checks and screenings; CPI training & certification; First Aid/CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support for students with IEPs inside and outside the general classroom.
• Ensures and supports student safety, supervision, in-school transport, and personal care.
• Modifies assignments/projects to students' level of understanding per their disability.
• Paper management (copies, communication notebooks, grading, progress monitoring).
• Serves as a scribe for students that require it.
• Participates in required training/professional development offered by the District.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
