Under supervision, duties include providing instructional supports, maintaining student data, implementing behavior support plans, assisting with de‑escalation strategies, and adapting activities for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans and understanding functions of behaviors.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Under direction from supervising personnel, provide needed supports to students during instructional periods and non‑instructional activities.
• Maintain student data as directed by teachers or related service providers.
• Follow and implement behavior support plans provided by teachers or related service providers.
• Provide overall support to the classroom teacher and student, based on student and classroom needs.
• Incorporate knowledge of student learning styles and child development to assist student learning.
• Provide verbal support, prompting, redirection, and modeling to help students access curriculum activities.
• React professionally and objectively to unpredictable situations and adapt assistance accordingly.
