Job summary

Arizona Department of Education is seeking an ESS, Special Education Inclusion Specialist to develop statewide professional learning for teachers working with students with disabilities. The role emphasizes data-driven improvement, High-Leverage Practices, and Universal Design for Learning.

Applicants should have teaching experience in special education and a degree in education with SPED specialization; state travel is required periodically, with a hybrid work setup in Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with specialization in special education or equivalent experience.
• Teaching experience in special education is required.
• Knowledge of IDEA/FAPE and inclusive practices is required.
• Master’s degree in education may be preferred for select roles.

Responsibilities

• Plan statewide professional learning for students with disabilities and analyze data on implementation and impact.
• Represent the unit at state and national conferences as needed.
• Support PEAs in developing data-driven continuous improvement plans.
• Apply adult learning theory and coaching models to build educator capacity.
• Provide coaching to instructional staff to promote HLPs and UDL.
