Job summary

Tutor Me Education seeks passionate Special Education In-Person Tutors to provide one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes across California. You will tailor instruction based on each student’s IEP, supporting daily activities and offering moral encouragement to help them achieve academic success.

The role offers flexible Before & Afterschool or weekend hours (approximately 10–20 hours per month) and requires in-person commuting within CA.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs and accommodations is highly preferred.
• Must be able to commute in-person to student homes in CA.
• Must be enrolled in college or have completed an AA, BA or higher.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1:1 tutoring sessions for students with special education needs.
• Develop personalized lesson plans aligned with each student’s IEP.
• Adapt materials, assessments, and teaching methods to fit each student’s learning styles.
• Track and document student progress, communicating with parents & teachers as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams for a cohesive learning experience.
• Maintain open communication with parents or guardians about progress and concerns.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment that supports emotional and behavioral growth.
• Stay up to date on latest trends in special education and apply them to lessons.

About the Role: As a Special Education In-Person Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in CA.

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in CA
• Choose from Before & Afterschool Hours or weekends (~10-20 hours per month)

Your Responsibilities:

• Conduct engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions for students with special education needs.
• Develop personalized lesson plans and strategies that align with each student’s IEP.

• Stay up to date on the latest trends and best practices in special education and incorporate them into your lessons.
