Job summary

Bethlehem Area School District in Farmersville Elementary School is seeking a full-time Instructional Assistant for Special Education. The position runs August through June with a seven-hour school-day, Monday through Friday, following the district calendar.

The role supports students under the special education teacher, helps implement IEPs, collects data, and assists with student care and behavior management. The hourly rate is $24.46.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 48 credits beyond high school, or completion of the district's Highly Qualified IA Program.
• Experience or training preferred in special education instructional support.
• Commitment to support the educational, behavioral, and social development of students.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational, behavioral, and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the special education teacher.
• Support students with academic, organizational, and behavioral needs.
• Assist in implementing IEPs and monitor student progress as directed.
• Provide support to individual students inside and outside the classroom to promote full participation in school activities.
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records and documentation.
• Collect academic and behavioral data and complete observations as required.
• Communicate with students, staff, and parents to support student success.
• Provide assistance with personal care needs; including toileting, feeding, and other self-care tasks as required.
• Support de-escalation of students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.

Education
