Job summary

The Two Year Alternative Licensure Program is seeking Field Coaches to guide teacher candidates to meet the Colorado Teacher Standards at Maturing Professional Practice and secure their Colorado teaching license. Field Coaches review lesson plans, observe instruction at the school site, and follow up with constructive feedback to the teacher candidate.

Over the teacher candidate’s first 18 months in the program, each Field Coach completes eight observations and offers ongoing support through

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a specific teaching area (Elementary, Secondary, Special Education).
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in a Special Education capacity.

Responsibilities

• Review lesson plans and observe instruction at the school site.
• Provide constructive feedback to the teacher candidate.
• Offer ongoing support through phone, email, and in-person meetings during the program (18 months and eight observations).

If you are a retired teacher, principal, assistant principal or instructional coach, this could be a great fit for you. Field Coaches review lesson plans, observe instruction at the school site, and follow up with constructive feedback to the teacher candidate. Over the teacher candidate’s first 18 months in the program, each Field Coach completes eight observations and offers ongoing support through phone, email, and in-person meetings throughout the time that the teacher is enrolled in the program.

Compensation

• $1,500 - $10,000 per year, depending on the field coach's caseload.
• Most Field Coaches work with 2-10 teachers per year.
• Mileage reimbursed at the current State rate.
