Job summary

School City of Hammond seeks a qualified educator to support students with Emotional Disabilities. You will plan and implement IEP-based instruction, collaborate with general education teachers and service providers, and monitor progress toward measurable goals. Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.

Indiana license in Exceptional Needs (Mild or Intense Interventions) and a Bachelor's degree are required; experience with case conferences and accommodations is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and Indiana teaching license for Exceptional Needs (Mild or Intense Interventions).
• Experience planning and delivering instruction for Emotional Disabilities.
• Proficiency in IEP development and service coordination.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement education of students with Emotional Disabilities.
• Develop and implement direct and indirect IEP services.
• Participate in case conferences to develop measurable IEP goals and benchmarks.
• Regularly monitor the implementation of IEP services.
• Inform teachers and providers of their responsibilities for IEPs.
• Ensure accommodations on state/district assessments.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.

General Role and Responsibilities:

Ensure full and appropriate implementation of IEPs and provide assistance to general education teachers and other service providers in the general education setting.

General Skills And Qualifications:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree; Indiana Teacher’s License-Exceptional Needs Mild Interventions or Intense Interventions

Specific Responsibilities In This Position:

• To plan and implement the education of students with Emotional Disabilities
• IEP development and implementation of direct and indirect services to students
• participate in case conferences to assist in developing measurable IEP goals, benchmarks and objectives
• Regularly monitor the implementation of planned IEP services
• Inform teachers and other providers of their specific responsibilities related to the implementation of each student’s IEP
• Assurance of accommodations on state/district assessments
• Records management and maintenance
