Job summary

Salem School District at Fisk Elementary School is seeking an Educational Assistant to support Classroom and Special Education needs within an inclusionary setting. You will work with students individually, in small groups, or in larger groups under the supervision of a teacher and specialists.

Position details include 6.5 hours per day, 183 school days per year, and potential CPI certification. Salary considerations start at $18.81/hour with a $1.00/hour bump for paraeducator II or teaching

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to lift 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work with students individually, in small groups, or in large groups as directed by the supervisor.
• Assist general education students and students with identified needs in inclusive settings.
• Support IEP-directed instructional activities and interventions.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of children.
• Carry out instructional or developmental activities as directed.
• Maintain and update competency through available offerings.
• Assist with personal care needs of students as required.
• Possibly obtain CPI certification.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
