Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read, reason, and understand policies and follow instructions given.
• Physical ability to perform all necessary upper and lower body movements.
• Ability to do reaching, lifting, basic math, writing, eye-hand coordination, sitting and stooping.
• Observe, consult with, and assist classroom teachers in instructional and classroom performance.
• Work with students individually or in groups as assigned by the teacher.
• Supplement and reinforce material taught in the classroom to enhance academic capabilities.
• Perform clerical duties to allow the teacher more time to teach.
• Assist students to develop study and organization skills.
• Guide children to work and play harmoniously with others.
• Help the teacher work more effectively with students.
• Assist in testing or screening procedures.
• Supervise students in transit as assigned.
• Perform related duties as may be assigned.
• Follow all district policies and procedures.
• Complete tasks appropriate to certification requested by supervising teacher.

Job Goals:

To facilitate the educational process for students by supporting and enhancing the educational services offered by the teaching staff and to reinforce student academic skills in all educational settings assigned.

Qualifications Desired:

• High school diploma.

School year per Educational Technician Bargaining Agreement.

Terms of Employment:

Salary, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.

Hourly Rate:

$18.91–$24.34 per hour

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board's policy on evaluation.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Physical Tasks: Bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching.
