Job summary

Seattle Public Schools seeks a Special Education Contracts Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of contracted services, from procurement to closeout, ensuring compliance with IDEA and grant funding rules.

The role handles invoices, renewal tracking, and budget reporting, collaborating with Accounting, Budget, Purchasing, Grants, and external partners to maintain audit-ready records and support annual budgeting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management, Public or Business Administration or closely related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of professional budget experience or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provides budget and cost analysis and controls for the Special Education Department; tracks budget and expenditures; prepares fiscal analyses and projections.
• Prepares recurring fiscal control/cost reports; develops cash flow and expenditure forecasts; reconciles staffing with budget and HR.
