Keshet & Schechter Special Education Co is seeking a Special Education Co-Teacher for Kindergarten. The role involves co-teaching, managing IEPs, and supporting special education students in achieving their academic and emotional goals. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and an Illinois Special Education License.
POSITION: Special Education Co-Teacher for Kindergarten
LOCATION: Solomon Schechter Therapeutic Day School / Northbrook, IL
SUPERVISOR: Therapeutic Day School Manager/Director of Education
POSITION SUMMARY:
The licensed special education teacher will co-teach with Kindergarten teachers in the Schechter classroom(s). The teacher in this role will work with special education students on academic, nonacademic, social, health and emotional needs of the students in the general education environments. The teacher will work with related service personnel to meet the IEP needs of students. The teacher will provide supported instruction and strategies to Para-educators and individual students, small groups of students as well as monitor students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All case management;
Development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs, Behavior Plans, and data
Development, implementation, and monitoring of instructional, behavioral, daily living, personal care, independent living goals, and community-based instruction.
Conduct assessments and progress monitoring.
Classroom staff management.
Multidisciplinary collaboration.
Job responsibilities may include lifting and physical management.
Driving is required to access the community
