Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrate competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
• Valid Texas Special Education certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans reflecting district curriculum with accommodations for individual needs.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials aligned with TEA policies and IEPs.
• Assess students formally and informally; modify curricula for special education students as needed.
• Adapt instruction for distance learning when required.
• Provide academic instruction to students with disabilities across subjects using evidence-based techniques.
• Maintain student records, enable effective communication with parents and ARD committees.
• Collaborate to develop IEPs through ARD meetings and support transitions for students.
