Qualifications

• The job involves working with individual and/or small groups of students under the supervision of a certificated teacher.
• Modeling necessary skills to perform assignments and following behavioral plans.
• Assisting with health care needs and maintenance of safety in classroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials under the direction of the classroom teacher to support objectives.
• Communicates with teachers and district personnel to assist in evaluating progress and implementing IEP objectives.
• Implements instructional programs under teacher supervision to reinforce learning concepts.
• Maintains classroom equipment and a safe learning environment.
• Supervises students in various settings (lunch, playground, bus, etc.).
• Documents daily activities for logs and hourly records.
• Assists in implementing behavioral plans designed by the IEP team.
• Models appropriate social interactions and supports student independence.
• Supports students with daily living skills and remediation goals.
• Performs other duties to support efficient operation of the work unit.
