Job summary

Solterra Academy in New Britain, CT is seeking a Classroom Support Staff member to assist teachers and support teams with academic, vocational, and behavioral programs in the classroom and school environment.

Under supervision, you will support activities, help students, implement behavior plans, collect data, and help maintain a safe, positive learning environment. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is available, with in-person schedules Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire is required
• Certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention within first training course after hire
• Experience with children with severe behaviors is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide active supervision and assist students within the classroom and school environment
• Assist students with academic tasks
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans with assigned students
• Provide feedback to students in a therapeutic manner
• Collect data on student behaviors
