Job summary

Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES is seeking Teacher Aides to support students across our Special Education programs at the Midlakes Education Center. This is meaningful, hands-on work where your presence matters every day.

You will assist teachers in non-instructional tasks, supervise students in various settings and help implement behavior plans and safety protocols. The 6-hour, 10-month schedule includes optional work during summer school with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Civil Service eligibility for Teacher Aide required: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with adults and students.
• Ability to perform essential functions including lifting up to 50 lbs and moving students as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher by performing non-instructional duties to support students with disabilities.
• Provide general supervision of students in classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, and playground.
• Assist with behavior management and safety plans under staff direction.
• Support preparation of classroom materials and instructional displays.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information under FERPA.
